Summary: Consisting of two 55-minute lessons, this unit is based on a March 29, 2002 cohort study by Johnson, et al, "Television Viewing and Aggressive Behavior During Adolescence and Adulthood." This unit uses the results of that study to teach key epidemiological principles, such as:

  • How to interpret information displayed in a contingency table;
  • How to calculate and interpret risk;
  • Understanding how to use data to evaluate a given hypothesis; and
  • Understanding the difference between association and causation.
